		The winery CULTURE, TRADITION & WINE CULTURE Bodegas López, one of the most traditional wineries from Argentina, produces excellent blended aged wines from single-grape varietals such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovesse and Pinot Noir. Founded over a hundred years ago in Mendoza by José López Rivas, Bodegas Lopez represents a deep history of winemaking culture, tradition and a love of fine wine. Bodegas López has a total capacity of storage 34 million liters (9 million gallons) of wine in French oak casks and stainless steel tanks. Bodegas López is mentioned by Kevin Zraly, in his book Windows On The World - Complete Wine Course, as one of the twelve best wine producers in Argentina. Bodegas López was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standards Certificate in September 2001 for production of grapes, elaboration, bottling in origin, dispatch of fine wines and package development. TRADITION José López Rivas, its founder, came from Malaga, Spain where he cultivated his family’s vineyards and olive estates. With the dream of establishing his own vineyards and fine wines, he settled in Mendoza, Argentina in 1898 at the fertile foothills of the Andes Mountains. His methods of control, selection, care and supervision of every detail in the winemaking process are practiced today by his descendants, the fourth generation. The unique qualities and characteristics of Lopez wines reflect the combination of ancestral traditions and modern winemaking technology. With an elaboration process developed and perfected over 100 years and wine aged in French oak casks, the rich aromas and natural flavors of the Lopez wines ranks among world-class wines. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Sangiovesse, Pinot Noire, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Semillon, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are selected and used from the best wine-growing regions in Mendoza such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo, and Tupungato. Bodegas Lopez is currently managed by José’s grandson Carlos Alberto López and his sons Carlos Alberto and Eduardo López Laurenz. THE WINES MONTCHENOT TINTO This most prestigious and traditional Argentine wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec elaborated with the most carefully selected grapes from our own vineyards in Maipú, Mendoza. It is aged patiently for 10 years in French oak casks until it reached its maximum complexity. Dark ruby color. Give it time in the glass or decanter to show you what it has – you’ll find many layers of berries, plum, cherry and leathery aromas which linger in the smooth and impressive long finish. Rich aromas with a sense of elegant and finesse, it’s all in perfect balance. Medium to full bodied. This is something very special with a limited production of only 10,000 cases. FOOD PAIRING: Ideal to enjoy with red meat, soft sauces and mild cheeses. Depending on the consumer's preferences, the aging of this wine on its bottle may last for a period of 10 years or more. RINCON FAMOSO TINTO This unique and exotic blend of Sangiovesse, Merlot and Malbec is elaborated with grapes carefully selected from our own vineyards located in Maipú, Mendoza and aged in French oak casks for 5 years. Rich spices with fantastic aromas of ripe fruit, hints of berries, marinated chestnuts and tobacco. Impressively smooth with round tannins, it is medium bodied and easy to drink! FOOD PAIRING: Perfect to enjoy with all kind of dishes from red meat to pasta and even pizza! Depending on consumer's preferences, the aging of this wine in its bottle may last for a period of 10 years or more. LOPEZ MALBEC This is a classic Argentine wine elaborated predominantly with Malbec grapes from our own vineyards located in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Harmonic and well balanced with elegant berry aromas and velvety finish. Aged in French oak casks for 12 months.
